Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over slopes and graphing, special triangles, various types of little problems (remainders, ratios, combined work, etc.. She showed good progress, increased confidence, and a can-do attitude (warning: cliche!). She is going to do some more practice problems over what we covered, and we will go over those during our next session."
"In my final session with the student, we went over as many practice problems as we could fit in our 2 hour time window. He is taking his test on Tuesday, I wish him the best of luck."
"The student and I went over some problems during her personal study time, then went through about half a quantitative section together. Her test is Saturday."
"We reviewed test-taking strategies discussed last session. Discussed geometry, exponents, inequalities, and PEMDAS with example problems."
"Reviewed practice problems and covered the following topics: volume of cylinders, logic/word problems, and weighted average. We also talked about study strategies with a limited amount of time before the exam."
"We went over some math problems and applied a routine process to find the solution. Next week we will focus on it again."
"Reviewed more strategies for solving quantitative problems, reviewed fractions, decimals, and percentages and strategies for approaching these problems, and practiced these concepts."
"The student and I worked on triangles and angles today. She scored above the 50th percentile on her last GRE quantitative section, so she's improving!"
"We reviewed the questions the student had from work she did at home, and we also began to review data analysis and probability, although we will finish this at our next meeting."
"The student and I met for another session of GRE tutoring. We went over a variety of topics including inequalities, absolute value, and the distance formula. We also discussed when she should take the test. Considering the progress she has made, I recommended that she take the test in November. I think that she will wind up doing very well."
"Figured out what tests the student has to take (GRE AND GRE Subject Test), then started math. We began with general strategies and moved on to number properties. She struggled with Quantitative Comparisons: how they work, what each answer choice means, etc. We covered most Number Properties questions until fractions. She has a lot of work ahead to do for this test. She plans to take it in about a month, which will require a lot of study time every day."
"Today the student and I met for the first time to discuss the Quantitative section of the GRE. We specifically discussed many of the problems that she had found difficulty with during her practice, focusing the most on probability problems. We met for an hour and a half, and she will email to schedule another session."
