Tutoring review by Anthony in Leawood, KS
For our first session the student and I covered the first 5 chapters of the book. We covered the major points of each section with appropriate sample questions. We covered one and two dimensional motion, basic trigonometry, vector addition and applications to physical bodies. We also went over circular motion as well as Newton€™s three laws of motion and their applications, putting particular emphasis on the second law and the typical question types associated with them.  The student seemed a little lost as to where to start most of the questions, but at the end of the session he showed good improvement. With a little independent practice he should see decent results.

Went through the student's backpack, sorted papers by subject, threw away old papers, and wrote down known due dates in his planner. We then worked on his next assignment for Technical Writing, which is the area he needed the most assistance. We completed his concept map and wrote an outline for his rationale for the paper, which is a short summary of his paper topic's importance.

We started with probability and continued with discrete and continuous random variables, expected values, variance, and covariance. We went over all previously assigned homework problems to try and figure out what she had done wrong, and how to work the problems correctly.
