Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered notes from last week and reviewed some homework that is due tomorrow. We are planning to meet again tomorrow to prepare for a quiz the student has on the 15th."
"We reviewed converse theorems: alternate interior, alternate exterior, corresponding and coinciding angles. We corrected mistakes on his exam and he finished his homework."
"A good session. The student had some questions that he needed explained to him. He is an excellent student and a quick study. Very impressive student."
"The student asked me for help understanding geometric transformations. At first my methods were a little bit 'mathy' for her, but once I understood how she approached problems (she's a very experiential learner, she learns by doing), we began making extensive progress. She needs to do something a few times to understand it, but after she has, she seems to grasp it very well. It was very satisfying to see her fully grasp symmetry (a concept that had previously confused her) after she understood the geometric core of rotations and reflections."
"The student is doing really well with the slope and slope-intercept material, but he struggles some with angles and proofs. I showed him some of the videos from a test prep website; they're really good at explaining concepts in about 5-minute chunks, sometimes in a series of videos that each focus on one step at a time. He's going to review some of them before his test Thursday."
"The student and I worked on algebra. He gets his homework done very quickly. I made up some challenging problems for him to try."
