Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session we went over a practice test and a few questions the student asked to review. Overall this session went well."
"We covered reactions of alkenes again for the student's exam and worked on a few examples. He had his exam immediately after."
"We covered solubility and acid-base chemistry. It became clear that the student really grasped the underlying concepts of equation balancing, stoichiometry, and determining limiting reagents very well."
"We went over some algebra and some physics. The algebra problems consisted of finding domain and range for piecewise functions, as well as graphing them and determining the functions from a given graph. He also had a regression problem using a graphing calculator. For physics, he wanted to know how his projectile problems would change when the initial velocity was at an angle other than 0 or 90. He will have more material tomorrow to go over for his physics quiz. Since he didn't know what would be on his Thursday quiz yet, we talked about three dimensional coordinate systems and using the dot product and cross product, especially when applied to work and power and torque."
"We went over the concepts on the student's upcoming chemistry quiz. I did a brief review of each topic and went further in depth on the ones he had specific questions about. The topics included classification of matter, homogeneous vs heterogeneous mixtures vs pure substances. Elements vs compounds and extensive vs intensive properties."
"We went over the different types of reactions, combustion, single displacement, double displacement, etc."
