Introduction to Mandarin Chinese

Our Introduction to Mandarin Chinese course is a live online course designed for students interested in learning Mandarin Chinese who have little to no knowledge of the language. Students will learn the basic skills in listening and speaking and be equipped with the tools needed to formulate simple sentences and questions on their own. What You Will Learn How to recognize and write common Mandarin Chinese characters How to count in Mandarin Chinese How to form simple sentences with basic vocabulary How to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, and weather How to ask basic questions and for directions about familiar and routine matters Course Expectations: Varsity Tutors clients expect to see and hear their instructor on video for the entire duration of the course. All instructors must have reliable internet connection and adhere to the pre-planned course schedule. Most Successful instructors support interactive courses and do not include a lot of independent work and/or practice tests during the session.
