Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over law of cosines, law of sines, and right triangle trigonometry in preparation for a test that the student has on Friday. She understood the material overall, but wanted to review some select problems from worksheet and class notes that she had completed in school. She did well with the problems and needed only minimal guidance."
"Today, we worked on finding the unknown side lengths in a triangle. She recently missed one of her Geometry classes, so we reviewed and completed homework using the geometric mean formula, and then reviewed information on Pythagorean theorem. She has a very good understanding of the material, and successfully completed the homework."
"Big review for upcoming test on transformations.
Went through all notes for the four types of transformations and reviewed what teacher might ask for all concepts and what would be tricky, and made bullet points of tough and tricky concepts he can remember easily for the exam
Went through review sheet of practice problems."

"We completed homework involving finding missing angles and sides using sine, cosine and tangent along with the angle of depression. She had no trouble once she remembered her formulas for sine, cosine, and tangent."
"The student I reviewed and worked on homework from the sections that cover special parallelograms: rectangles, rhombi, and squares as well as the relationships between their angles, sides, and diagonals. He also started the homework covering trapezoids, isosceles trapezoids, and kites."
"Today's session went well. We finished up completing the student's old homework and finished up his current homework as well.
His scores are all starting to get better!
The student had no difficulties with the problems for a few weeks now.
No other concerns at this time."

"This session we focused on geometry, specifically quadrilateral properties. The student gets a little bit lost at times in the nomenclature or has a little bit of trouble articulating what he wants to say exactly so with geometry the answer is simply practice until saying the name for the properties takes longer than thinking of them. A lot of what we did this session was trying to drill the properties of special quadrilaterals so he is very prepared moving forward."
"Today we reviewed terms and concepts from Ch. 11 to review for her upcoming test. We discussed the four main rigid motions, dilation, isometry, translation vectors and many other topics. The student has a pretty good understanding of concepts after I explain them; she just needs to review them on her own."
"The student had done quite well on his previous geometry test (94, I believe). We went over their new topics of triangle congruence and worked in some depth on proofs related to triangles. The student struggles with proofs, but I think we are making good progress in that area."
"We went over the rest of the Chapter 1 problems that I assigned the student last session. We also finished taking notes on Chapter 2. I left her with extra practice of clock problems, a proof of a theorem, typing up her notes, and all of the Chapter 2 practice problems."
"The student and I began by reviewing a recent test. We went over the problems and discussed the correct answer as well as strategies. I then had him do extra problems covering those principles. We finished up by doing some problems out of a geometry workbook. The student is making good progress."
"The student and I went over section 3.24 of his book this time and discussed similar triangles, finding the solution in a set of equations, finding certain angles and sides based on information given, and we worked with lines of symmetry in triangles and other figures."
