"We have started his next project, this one deals with implicit functions and class helper structs. For the first class we essentially covered what these concepts are, and looked at different implementations of them. We completed the introductory work with implicit calls and began the proxy helpers. "
"Worked on a clock program to convert military time to normal time. We did the entire class and not just the method asked for. Actually did it two ways as it intended the time to be converted in the class, but the first way we did it the time was simply returned differently and not modified internally. Covered using the private class variables directly vs. calling the getters and setters."
"The student and I looked at a project he is working on that allows the user to play a game of Tic-Tac-Toe. We focused on how to define and initialize field variables, as well as how to create 2D arrays of object references. Tomorrow, we will delve deeper into the GUI of his game, ensuring that the game state is reflected in the display shown to the user."
"The student and I worked a lot more on recursion today and understanding the benefits of it. He has a pretty good understanding of how to set up a base case and recursive case, but he needs a little more practice in understanding the recursive function calls. We'll continue to practice this."
"The student finished his HW assignment regarding the Math.random() usage. Afterwards, we went on to continue his coding warm-up exercises. He shows much improvement and his problem solving skills are growing."
"Today the student learned how to dynamically add items to his DataTable, and he also learned how to enforce certain rules on the input data at the time the user submits. The next step will be for us to begin to use different components on the page to represent different data types. For example, instead of the user typing in a genre, the user will choose from a dropdown menu."
