Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished the study guide for the student's upcoming test and worked on some of the homework problems he was unable to do. The student understands all of the material very well. If he is focused for his test, reads all the directions carefully and is confident he should get a very good grade on this test."
"We met from 2-3:30pm. We worked on his chapter 6 homework, studied some biology, and pushed ahead for his next geometry class. The only thing he needs to work on is memorizing the definitions and identifying features of parallelograms."
"During the session, I worked with the client on basic trigonometry problems involving the sine, cosine and tangent functions. We went through problems that the client had trouble with on his homework (involves using trig functions to find angles or side lengths on a right triangle). We also discussed how to work ratio problems and worked on several example problems together."
"Covered Chapter 6: Similarity; Sect. 6.6: Using Proportionality Theorems; Sect. 6.7: Perform Similarity Transformations; Chapter 7: Right Triangles and Trigonometry; Sect. 7.1: Apply the Pythagorean Theorem; Sect. 7.2: Use the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem"
"We went over the student's recent Geometry test. We went back and corrected the problems that the student got wrong and developed a plan of attack for the next sections. We talked about the student's general approach to problems and practiced writing everything out instead of using the trial and error method. The student could still use a lot of practice in Geometry, but overall we made some good progress. I assigned the student a practice problem for next time involving a proof he'd missed in the test."
"The student's geometry final is tomorrow so we did some final review. I am definitely seeing major improvements in areas (plotting coordinates and complex angles) and asking him to explain his work and reasoning seems to really help. I am confident he we do well on his final."
