Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We talked about the relationship between position, velocity, and acceleration, as well as the concept of F=Ma and how it is applied. We went over how to solve several kinematic problems. We talked about circular motion and how to solve problems related to work and energy. The subject she struggled most with was how to solve problems related to energy. Advice I would give is always write down units to make sure you are working with the correct ones and go over the formulas to really ingrain them in memory."
"Instead of working college essays this session the student asked I help him with his essay on the Kite Runner for his English class. We went through his essay and went over his thesis and arguments, and I helped structure his points better. We discussed our interpretations of the novel and used textual evidence from the book to prove our thesis. He was great to work with, and I think he learned a lot about what goes into making a successful interpretative essay."
"Tonight the student and I worked on Negligence - primarily the duty element and the injury elements; we went through an outline on how to better understand the elements, and then did some multiple choice questions."
"Worked with the student to cover the basics of using Excel. Demonstrated the majority of the basic and most often used functions and features. Shared with him where to find additional help and how to use the help feature within Excel to develop his skills and competency."
"Today the student and I went over a new essay that he had written. We cut a lot of material, but the essay looked pretty good in total. He is going to do some edits that I recommended before our session next week. He is also going to write up a draft of the last essay he needs so that we can go over that essay next week. The current plan is to review the third essay and edit the fourth essay next week, and then finalize the fourth essay in our session the week after that."
"Tonight we continued to work with multiplication facts. We worked on the 6's and 7's tonight. We also reviewed the 9's, and then began working on doubles. I asked that the student work on memorizing the doubles for next week."
