Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed the endocrine system. We covered the functions of the endocrine system and the names of the hormones and different glands of the system. We also discussed the diseases affiliated with endocrine system abnormalities."
"The student and I continued working on building sentences. She's doing great! Her pronunciation and intonation are great! We went over the days of the week, months of the year, and other concepts like anochecer, amanecer, and atardecer. We went over verb conjugation for verbs ending in -ar, -er, ir. My hope for next class is to work on verbs more in depth."
"The student completed lesson 15. We began with a quick conversational review over the date, day of the week, months, and ordinal numbers. We are reinforcing vocabulary terms and regularly using preterite construction in our warm-up questions. We focused our lesson today on "hacer" and its conjugations and idiomatic uses. We went over the conjugations together and then incorporated them into conversation. We then went over some common idiomatic phrases with hacer and practiced the phrases. Near the end of our lesson, we spent time going over using hacer with weather expressions, and we reinforced vocabulary that we introduced earlier in the week, mainly the seasons of the year. For our next lesson, we will pick up on weather vocabulary and expressions and introduce additional verbs."
"We went over restaurant related phrases today. Specifically, the student learned how to say a variety of words, including welcome, how many guests, the number of guests, and many more."
"In today's session we looked over and corrected the student's Spanish 2 exam review packet. We specifically focused on conjugating regular and irregular (ser, ir, decir, poner, poder) AR, ER, and IR regular and reflexive verbs in the present and preterite tenses. We especially worked on conjugating verbs in paragraphs (since this was the most difficult), focusing on understanding the meaning of the sentences, and looking out for subject switches. By the end of the session she was able to go through the process of understanding the sentences, locating the subjects, and providing the correct conjugation according to the subjects without my assistance."
"The student and I went over his unit packets in order to study for his final exam. We went over many grammar topics by having him explain them to me, or him conjugate regular and irregular verbs in different tenses. He seemed pretty confident for the test and was going to study vocabulary after the session. I gave him a few pointers to guide him to study. I am really impressed by how far he has come this year while studying the Spanish language. His confidence in speaking, reading, and writing has definitely improved."
