Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had our first session this afternoon. From what I can tell, he is really motivated to learn German. I am happy to have students like this. So, since we are not working with a pre-set curriculum, we are just going to work with common sense. Today we just covered basic phonetics, as well as introductory questions that you might ask when you first meet someone. Overall the session went really well."
"The two students and I began by reading our book together and then they competed on reading comprehension questions. Then, they took the quiz on it. We then moved on to numbers and reading her book. Then, they swapped books and took a quiz on it. We worked some more on numbers, finally, the two competed by naming animals."
"Today the student and I had a session covering the history of chainsaws. We learned vocabulary about the development and technology associated with chainsaws throughout history since the 1920s, when they were first developed. To look into these topics, we read a couple of newspaper articles about saw collectors and new technology developments. For next time, we are planning to get into more specific terminology about smaller parts of the saws, and she will highlight words that she does not already know in order to begin building a new vocabulary list."
