Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent today's tutoring session reviewing the material for the test. It included vocabulary, verb conjugating, a translation of a passage from the textbook, and a review of the Olympian gods/goddesses. We started by reviewing the passage from the textbook. I then quickly tested her on her verb conjugations, which were very nearly perfect, with her only needing to watch out for the 3rd person plural forms for some of the later conjugations. Therefore, the rest of the session was spent reviewing vocabulary and the main Roman gods. Finally, I reviewed with her the names of the gods and their main traits. I suggested that she review this the most in depth, since there could be any trait on the upcoming test. I am confident, however, that with a bit more rote memorization studying for the vocabulary and deities, she should perform perfectly on Tuesday."
"Today the student and I covered chapter 16 in Ecce Romani and reviewed Chapter 9. We spent most of the session doing the readings from each chapter. He had a bit of difficulty with the grammar and had forgotten some of the vocab. For example, he mixed up the nominative and accusative case a number of times. I instructed him to make flashcards for all the vocab in chapters 9-16 and to review the words for 15-20 minutes a day. His attitude about learning Latin is generally positive and inquisitive."
"Translated Sententiae Antiquae and exercitationes. Discussed how to create noun and adjective stems."
