Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for an upcoming unit test. We covered key terms and figures, chronology, and differing perspectives."
"I met with the student today for the first time in two weeks. Despite this gap, he's managed to continue progressing in improving his study habits and gaining the max productivity from his efforts. Over the course of the third quarter, he improved his grade from an 85 to a 92, all while reducing his homework time by half! After discussing his recent quiz, as well as his recent reading and note-taking, we came up with a new strategy for further reducing the amount of time he is spending on his history homework each night. We also discussed the fact that while he's making impressive improvements in his productivity, grades, and confidence, it is possible that he is still taking too many notes. We have agreed to meet again tomorrow and to start his next chapter together. My hope is that I can help him continue to realize how much he learns and remembers just from reading his text, and I want to encourage him to use his notes for gaining a better/deeper understanding of important and/or complex themes, and for assistance with memorizing the same."
"We specifically covered the causes of WWI. The student is struggling with reading retention and knowing what is important to take notes on in the readings. She has a positive attitude. I helped her with reading and note taking strategies, and how to efficiently comprehend what she is reading and how to take notes on it. I feel like we made some progress and I'm looking forward to working more on these strategies at our next session!"
