Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked through the student's questions from section 2.2. She is doing really well and getting the hang of the new material. With a little bit of practice, she should have no problems. We can continue to work through any questions she has when we meet again next weekend."
"With student A, I covered primarily trig functions and identities. He seemed to be struggling largely with how to apply amplitude and period in order to derive the graphs of functions he was working with, but is familiar with the identities of trig functions. With student B, we worked more on determining functions from tables of values and got into graphing of functions. For both I sent invites to work with flashcards in the areas that we were working in for extra practice."
"Work on graphing transformation of trigonometric functions, mostly secant and tangent. We reviewed how to determine the amplitude, period, asymptotes, min and max values, vertical shift, and graphing the functions. The student has an excellent grasp of the concepts."
"Worked through homework that was the test review covering all sections on her test on the review. Made a few practice problems on material that the student felt weaker on. Covered polynomials equations and their graphs solving them to various stages and the use of synthetic division."
"Worked with student to complete online homework assignments. Student struggled with solving problems involving sequences given by recursive formula. After explaining the material the student finally got the idea and was able to complete the assignment with a high passing grade."
"Worked with the student on reviewing for his test tomorrow. We went over his last quiz which he got a 95% on (Great job!!). Continued working with finding factors for polynomial functions, sketching functions, writing them in standard form given just the roots, and also we worked on long division of polynomials."
