Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we reviewed all the strategies and test-taking skills we covered and had a talk about how to prepare for the test day itself. She is ready to go!"
"The student and I continued our work reviewing for the U.S. History subject test. We focused mainly on material she had not yet covered in class, specifically the history of the last forty years."
"First, we went over the essay from the student's first practice test 2 weeks ago. The essay definitely showed improvement over previous attempts. He is using varied and good bodies of evidence, solid topic sentences, and good paragraph organization. He is even using his vocabulary words that he is learning every week. Areas of potential improvement include: create more varied logical arguments rather than reiterating the same point. Next, we went over the practice test he took this week. He did worse on critical reading, but all his incorrect answers were concentrated on one particularly bad passage and I don't think this performance is the norm. He had his best performance ever on the math section. He showed improvement on the writing session. His scores were 600 (CR), 760 (M), and 610 (W). All scores are higher than his first SAT exam, and I believe they can go higher. I quizzed him on more vocabulary and assigned him more words to memorize. He will also complete one more practice test."
