Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed properties of acid-base solutions and solved some problems from her review. She had homework to finish on her own."
"Today, we reviewed the intro to chapter 22, and took notes over nuclear chemistry. After which, the student answered questions in his problem bank."
"Today we started reviewing for her final. We worked on changing moles to grams and back again, which she is very good at. She did well changing grams to molecules and back again. We also did some stoichiometry problems, which she is doing well with. We ended talking about heating curves. We will finish up reviewing for her final next Monday."
"She persevered and worked hard to prepare for her test the next day on acids and bases. We finished some of her review packet, but focused largely on the big concepts she would likely be tested on (Lewis acids/bases, conjugate bases, conjugate acids, etc.). She picked up on most of it and should at least have a good base for approaching the test."
"The student had trouble figuring out the use of molarity vs. the concept of moles of chemical compounds. We tackled his homework assignment on the subject, which covered calculating molarity, moles, volume, and mass from various standpoints. The most difficult problems were the ones that approached molarity from the dilution of solutions and the molarity of ionic materials. We worked through the different ways to calculate such problems, and he had a better understanding of the processes after our session."
"We covered structural biochemistry, cell biology, and the start of metabolic biochemistry. The student needs to study all of AP Biology. When he understands a concept, however, it sticks with him and he does not have trouble learning. By the time we meet, he will need to have completed the AP textbook up to Evolution, including all the practice questions that the book supplies."
