Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I spent our time going over how to write lines from two points or a point and a slope. He grasped the concept very well after a few trial runs."
"Angles and properties. Also went over Chemistry, matter, mass, and periodic table, along with atoms and elements."
"The student and I covered problems about supplementary and complementary angles. We practiced figuring out what equations we know from word problems and solving for unknown values."
"I assisted the student with his Algebra II homework, which was about exponential growth and decay. I made sure that he understood how to do his homework. I watched him do some problems after I explained to him what he needed to do. He did a great job today!"
"I went over the student's geometry test. The majority of her mistakes were related to a misunderstanding in calculating the surface area of various solids. She quickly understood what she had done wrong. After going over her geometry test, we worked on some practice problems in the ACT study book."
"The student completed her homework today, which was a review of parallelogram properties applied to rhombi, rectangles and squares (i.e. a square is a rectangle but a rectangle isn't necessarily a square). This was a good summary of our last few sessions and she did very well. We then completed two proofs using triangles to prove parallelograms. She does well on proofs once she gets going, but she struggles to see the first step. We talked about taking a step back to see the game plan before we start writing things down. This is an area that we can focus on going forward."
