Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the rules of exponents and the properties of logarithms. By the end of the session, the student demonstrated she understood the work by solving the problems correctly."
"Today we worked on solving for trigonometric functions and finding theta values based on unit circles and inverse functions."
"Tonight we covered: Sinusoidal functions - graphs, solving for values, transformations, word problems Some physics - kinetic energy and work The student is taking online courses and performs self-study with the notes provided from the course. The student learns quickly and is able to solve problems. Areas we will work on include building a better conceptual understanding of the topics in order to apply the material to different types of problems."
"Today, the student and I covered introductory E&M, such as series and parallel circuits, currents, charge density, capacitance, etc. We reviewed these topics for a test that she has coming up in physics. We also prepared for an exam in PreCalc, which simply covered trig identities like the double angle formula."
"I covered trig angle identities, solving problems with restricted ranges, and general solutions. He was mostly struggling with the application of the trig identities. Also in the beginning, he had not understood the concept of what sinx = # or cosx =# meant graphically. I included drawing strategies to represent the problem visually. He was understanding the steps I was taking to solve the problem. He was able to answer my conceptual questions after some tutoring."
"We covered basic trigonometric concepts that include angles and their measures, right angle trigonometry, finding the values of trig functions of acute angles, and trig functions of any angles. The student is well prepared for his quiz. I recommend that we memorize exact values for sin and cos functions for special angles as well as the unit circle. He understands this topic and acknowledges the importance of the unit circle."
