Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued where we had last left off, covering the student's second exam in Statistics. This session was mainly focused on covering t-tests, specifically when testing hypotheses involving two variables."
"The student's teacher has told her class to use calculator functions to find answers to various problems, but obviously didn't clearly explain what the functions were doing. So today we worked backwards, using non-calculator methods to figure out exactly which functions calculated what. We used several sports examples to do this."
"We discussed two-way frequency tables and discussed how to calculate marginals and conditional probability. During the session, we also went over the student's quiz and went over the steps on how to find the correct answer. The student feels comfortable with this material, but just needs to keep on practicing. Overall, I have no concerns from this session."
"We called her teacher and found out that there is yet another table of values that we needed to reference to get these questions. Armed with that all this hypothesis testing and z value comparing made a lot more a sense. I wish the book would mention these table-derived calculations more often in its explanations!"
"Today we started talking about chi square hypothesis testing. We talked about goodness of fit, which the student seems to have a good grasp on. We also talked about test of independence tests of homogeneity. She got an 85% on her last test and is feeling much more confident about the class."
"The student worked through two bonus assignments and we discussed how we were going to go about studying for the upcoming final."
