The assignment contained a lot of questions, and the student worked very hard to finish the problems. He showed great concentration, and I am very proud of his strong effort.

The student and I went over a set of problems regarding Dalton's Law of Partial Pressures, Graham's Law, and the Ideal Gas Law. He understood the concepts well after we discussed them, and needs to focus on converting between moles and various other quantities (# of atoms, mass, equations, etc. . .). He understands what problems can help him improve this and, with practice, should be prepared for his test. I would stress that he knows the conversions between atmospheres and mmHg, and atmospheres and Pascal. Practice is key for the student to do well on this test. The student is doing very well!

We talked about IMF, solubility, colligative properties, rate laws, rate orders, etc. We went over her first and second exam which she sent to me ahead of time so I could categorize the questions wrong into topics to focus on (listed above). The student was receptive to material and seemed to take notes/attempt problems to better understand concepts. We talked about different memorization tricks/real life examples to help reinforce topics. I suggested she go over the practice problems given in review and we can discuss any questions remaining the next time we meet. Overall, I think the session went well.
