Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is enthusiastic about learning the material and had several great questions which indicate he is actively considering the material. I emphasized more time and attention on points which the student needed more review with, including alternation of generations, structure of a plant root, characteristics of plants, and adaptations of plants for life on land."
"We went over gas laws, practice calculations, relationship of T and P, and partial pressure. The student was not struggling in any part and he had wonderful attitude."
"We reviewed Units 8 - 10 in preparation for the exam on Monday. We reviewed content from the textbook. We reviewed words and illustrations that were found in the textbook that were relevant to the content being covered. We listen to and discussed the presentations provided by the instructor(s). The information was straightforward and easy to connect to recent lab dissection. The student will have to refer to his project that he presented to the class."
"We continued discussing the functions of various organ systems, specifically the liver's role in the deamination of amino acids and its conversion of ammonia into urea for excretion. We also talked about autoimmune disease like UC and how it prevents the small intestine from performing its absorptive functions."
"We covered genetic mutations, biotechnology, plasmids, restriction enzymes, recombinant DNA, DNA fingerprinting, gel electrophoresis, and PCR. The student struggled a little with understanding plasmids, where they come from, and if they're injected back into an animal. The student has a great attitude. I had her explain to me the steps of using recombinant DNA technology. We also went over some of the pages in her textbook to help her better understand the concepts."
"We reviewed genetics, DNA/ RNA, and genetic engineering. It is clear that the student is studying outside of the session, as he has already memorized all the material."
