Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student finished the extra credit assignment. We learned about different protocols followed by the Centers for Disease Control to protect the workers, and also saw the ending of the film. After she finished the assignment, we worked on more problems. She did well on the multiple choice but seemed a little puzzled about FRQ questions due to the topics covered on the section. We'll work on this in our next session."
"We began this session by reviewing torque via problems from the database, then moved into covering oscillations. I walked the student through the basics of spring force, energy and motion. We took some time to discuss the unit circle and the shape of a sine wave graph because he has not yet seen that in math class. Although it was new material to him, he picked that concept up quickly. We finished the session with a practice problem on spring oscillation."
"This was a good session. We discussed molarity and making solutions. We focused on phase changes and solubility. Using solubility constants, we determined the saturation points for various salts in water."
"The student and I had a great session. We started working through the material for the new unit in chemistry. We talked about the basics of nuclear chemistry, and focused on the main three forms of radiation and balancing nuclear equations."
"The student and I worked on molecular geometry, intermolecular forces and Lewis structures. She needed help with understanding basics of above. Her attitude was proactive. We took a step-by-step approach to problems discussed. The session was very helpful according to the student!"
"I covered Simple Harmonic Motion. This includes springs and pendulums. She had some difficulty in the beginning understanding how position, velocity and acceleration at different points along the spring were related. Her attitude was fine. I showed her different ways of thinking about the problem to help understand it conceptually. The win is she seems to be understanding most of the homework we covered."
