Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I helped the client with logarithms, indices and their properties, graphing exponential and logarithmic functions, domain and range of a function and its inverse, composite functions and their respective domain and range, and solving logarithmic and exponential equations."
"We covered sine and cosine graphs and transformations. We did several examples and problems together, using the graphing chart method provided by the student's teacher."
"We reviewed homework for the new chapter. The student's test has been moved to next week, so we will have a little more time to review these concepts. She did really well with the new material, so we looked over the problems on old tests from previous years. She is still having a hard time doing the trig function or inverse function from the coordinate plane. The concept of the unit circle was confusing her, so we went over it in terms of special triangles instead. This seemed to help a little, but I told her she needed to practice on her own before our next session so we can go over it again."
"The student had quite a bit of homework to complete. This chapter deals with trigonometry and we discussed the unit circle, degrees, radians, conversions between the two, arc length, and the 6 trig functions relating to the unit circle."
"In today's session, we started to look at trig concepts, specifically dealing with sine and cosine functions. This material was relatively easy for her, but it is imperative she really understands this in order to be successful in the coming sections. We will continue to work on sine and cosine as well as other trig functions throughout most of this semester."
"We went over law of sines and law of cosines today. The student understood this very well and did not need much help with this topic. We also went over how this is different from the material we had been covering up until now because the two topics are easily confused. He said he does not have new material in physics right now, and this is the only new thing they are doing in pre calc. We are going to meet again next Tuesday."
