Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We prepped for a test on angular momentum, acceleration, and velocity, as well as glancing elastic collisions."
"We went though some problems the student sent me. We covered rotational motions and rotational dynamics."
"We continued going over the homework. Topics that we focused on include heat transfer, energy transfer, work, and power."
"We went over some general physics for the upcoming MCAT test. We focused mainly on force problems -- identifying force as a vector, finding the components of the vectors, and calculating the magnitude or combined vector using the Pythagorean theorem. We also discussed testing strategies, such as finding upper limits and lower limits. My suggestion is also to always look at units and find out from the question statement how to manipulate the information given to produce the proper units of the answer. We went over some practice problems for the MCAT as well as some general practice problems regarding forces."
"We worked on double slit diffraction and thin film interference this session. The student had a good attitude, as usual. We continued to work on drawing pictures for each problem. Extra practice is from the book, as usual."
"We worked on forces, gravitational motion and friction today, as well as doing motion on an inclined plane. We got through some example problems for these areas so we moved on to looking at pulleys as an introduction to work, which we will start doing next session."
