Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session, the student and I worked through practice sentences from English to Latin, forming "volo," "nolo," and "malo.""
"We reviewed the first two declensions and conjugations in the primary tenses. Then we covered the third declension and conjugation. We then went over the student's history quiz handout. Lastly, we did some English-Latin translation to help cement grammatical forms and give him a sense of the way in which cases and inflected verb forms are used in Latin. He is a receptive student and is learning fast."
"We started with an overview of the basics such as sentence parts and the case uses, which the student knows quite well. Then we moved on to the formation of verb tenses and their meanings, as well as some discussion of verb moods and voices. Finally we practiced a little bit of English-to-Latin translation, as it was a point she said she has questions about. Next time we'll be tackling participles and some of the more specific uses of the subjunctive."
