" We covered family/party/meals/physical appearance vocab, reading comprehension, answering questions about reading."
"We went over a menu for a restaurant, important vocabulary items, and strategies for interpreting the frequently idiomatic language found on menus."
"We began conjugating and speaking to one another using the verb tomar. We will soon be able to conjugate all present tense regular verbs."
"The student and I practiced the imperfect versus preterite. We went over a couple of homework exercises. He needs to practice his vocabulary, verbs, and conjugations. In our next session, we will prepare for his vocabulary quiz."
"The student and I prepared for his Spanish midterm on Monday. We reviewed regular -ar, -er, and -ir verbs, and then generated a list of irregular verbs including stem-changing (e to ie, e to i, and o to ue) verbs, yo-go verbs, and other irregulars like ser, estar, querer, ir, and gustar. I gave him a link to a notes website, and a website he can use to quiz himself on conjugation. Then we went over the 15 questions that the teacher may ask as part of the speaking portion of the midterm, what they mean, and how he would answer them. Before his midterm, he is going to review adjectives, numbers, weather, classes, materials, etc."
"The student and I reviewed all things previously studied together (ir, tener, estar, ser, and gustar). We reviewed with examples and conversation. I then introduced him to two verbs that are used similarly to 'gustar' (aburrir and interesar)."
