Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I was very pleased with the student's progress. The work we did involved adding and subtracting fractions (both proper and improper) as well as mixed numbers. I taught him how to turn an improper fraction into a mixed number and we worked on always simplifying the answers."
"Observed student complete a full quiz from topics pertaining to last few sessions - order of operations, exponents, etc. Did well, 10/10. Then went over full lesson on estimates with accompanying practice session. Student will complete lesson quiz on his own and other lesson exercises before next week. Recommended he do some extra exercises on long division. Perused printed schedule of lessons which I'll take a look over as reference."
"Student has a test on Thursday so we spent time going over the beginning of the chapter to ensure he is fully prepared for the test. That meant going over square roots, cube roots, expressions, Pythagorean theorem, and word problems. He remembered most of the material well and should be good to go on the test."
"We went over derivatives. We also went over product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule. The student is preparing for her test Friday, and I think she is confident. We still need to work on optimization problems, but other than that, everything is awesome. I love working with her, and I hope to continue."
"The student and I are working on the applications of exponential and logarithmic functions. We worked through problems of continuously compounding and decay models. After several examples and practices, she understands the concepts and methods quite well."
"Today, the student and I studied the concept of limits. We went over an old quiz that he had taken. We went over each concept of solving limits, including limits approaching infinity, limits approaching integers, and limits approaching integers from left and right. We also went over the most difficult question on his quiz from last Thursday on chapter 4."
