"The student and I covered the Chapter 11 test review material. This included a variety of defining polygons, area of polygons, solving for missing angle measurements, and finding circumference and area of circles. She knew the formulas well, and how to use them. We then worked on using accurate vocabulary to define polygons and line relationships. She will continue practicing this skill."
"Completed a review of secant and tangent lines of a circle for measurements of the lengths. We also reviewed area of a sector, area of a triangle, and area of a segment. In addition, we did a word problem break down to reflect the diagram of a circle with a tangent, secant lines, or chords. We also completed test corrections of triangle postulates of solving for indicated variables and measurements. Student was tasked to complete online test prep for review at next session."
"As it was my first session with the student, I began by introducing myself to his family. We soon dove deep into his material, which at this point is concentrated around logarithms. During the session, we touched upon concepts such as rewriting expressions with no log of a product, quotient or power, rewriting log expressions as single logs, simple log expressions, and practice problems that revolved around the idea that ln x = log eX. He is extremely focused."
"The student is currently learning implicit differentiation as well as higher order derivatives. She had completed half of the homework on implicit differentiation. I went over the process with her when it involves a chain rule. She was able to solve the remaining homework problems. She then started on her higher order derivative homework. She quickly picked it up - she just needed to make sure she simplified the derivative as much as possible before moving on to the next highest order."
"The student had missed a few days of school, so we worked to fill in the gaps in what she had learned. All of her problems focused on integration, both with application and intuitive understanding. We also introduced u substitution, as some of the problems required this mode of thinking. We went over variable change in formal mathematical language."
"Today, we found derivatives of rational functions using the power rule, product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule. We also found equations of tangent lines at a given point, derivatives of trig functions, and second derivatives of polynomials."
