"Today, I began by letting Student 1 read his book while I read a book to Student 2 and questioned her comprehension. The books contained several animal stories, and I had Student 2 act out some of the parts of the stories as I read to her. I also helped Student 1 with his Antolin test. When he was finished, I gave the book we had just read to him and read the other book to Student 2, while testing her comprehension. I then asked Student 1 several reading comprehension questions, as he was about halfway through the book. Student 2 was able to learn some animal words like fressen and flattern as well as the word laub. I would like Student 1 to read the books, which I left with him, and then I will read each book to both him and Student 2 again on Thursday before he takes his Antolin test on them."
"Today the student and I discussed two articles together: one on the new technology of 3D printers and "homefabbing" and another on the history of motor saws. We did a role play activity where I played a tourist and she spoke to me in German about the history of saws and about Stihl's development of motor saws. Lastly, we discussed how we will proceed in our next session. The plan is to look at some articles from the Stihl website in order to get more specific and technical vocabulary about blowers and trimmers and also to do some exercises that require paying attention to the declension of articles. The student is doing great. Her every day speech is clear and she already has a good vocabulary. We are working to increase her technical vocabulary and to pay a little closer attention to grammar."
"The student and I started off with verb tenses, putting things in the past. Then, we worked on more time adverbs. Things are going pretty well."
