Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the accusative case in pretty good detail. Then, we did some more verb conjugation, and I tested the student on his memorization of some vital verbs. I also gave him a quiz today of simple questions and he did very well, 6/8. If able to, a little bit of review every day is the best option. We talked about how much he is able to review and he says he tries to work on it in his study hall. Even a few minutes everyday will be able to lock in new verbs and nouns each week. Right now, we are focusing on prepositions and the cases in order to really get those down well and we will cover those more in the next lesson."
"We discussed topics related to the nature of the student's work. This included different business practices in different countries, as well as business culture and ethics. We also reviewed some basic grammar, including the conjugation of the verbs 'haben' and 'sein' in the present tense."
"We finished working on the topic of the "Satzklammer" today. I introduced the Felder model and the student made practice sentences to get more familiar with the concept."
"We practice Kanji for most of today's session. After learning the Kanji, we started making words and sentences by putting them together. One of greatest things the student does is improvise his new learning in to expand more. He keeps practicing writing during our session. I admire his enthusiasm for learning Japanese."
"We reviewed numbers and days of the week from last week. We also had a short conversation about the weather in Japanese. We discussed how to introduce someone in Japanese. The last few topics covered how to ask for directions in a train station as well as how to ask for the taxi stops."
