Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over problems involving trigonometric identities. By the end of the session, the student demonstrated that she understood the work by solving the problems correctly."
"We covered how to graph inverse trig functions and how to solve algebraic problems using inverse trig functions. We also did a general review about graphing all trig functions and their respective bounds on an x-y graph."
"Today we continued with the exponential and logarithmic functions chapter. We specifically went over L'Hopital's Rule. The student worked her homework, which focused on finding various limits, and which utilized L'Hopital's Rule. This was a good way for her to review finding different kinds of derivatives. After reviewing the chain rule, she understood it better. She does just fine finding derivatives of logs and exponentials. I think in subsequent sessions I'm going to review the basic derivative rules with her to help keep them fresh."
"In preparation for SAT math test, we solved the more difficult problems from a new book. We solved problems involving trigonometric functions, similar triangles, and algebraic equations. Finding number of roots of a quadratic using the discriminant. Solving power equations by bringing terms to a common base. The student continues to make steady progress toward getting a high score on the SAT Math test."
"Today we covered concepts including systems of linear and nonlinear equations, linear and multilinear matrices, augmented matrices, inverse matrices, and row echelon form. The student is confident in his skills. He has reviewed the concept of solving systems of linear and multilinear equations with the use of inverse matrices."
"Today we covered trigonometric identities. The student did not struggle with anything and practiced manipulating equations. The student had a very positive and upbeat attitude throughout the session. I taught a strategy for finding supplementary trig identities that will be useful in the foreseeable future."
