Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on several worksheets that reviewed the unit circle, reference angles, trigonometric values of various angles from all four quadrants, cosine, sine, tangent, cotangent, secant, cosecant of 30, 45, 60, 0, 180, 90, 270 degrees."
"This was my first session with the student, so we introduced ourselves and talked about how he currently felt about math. Then, we started by reading one of the examples in his book on how to multiply fractions. The answers had to be simplified and converted from improper fractions to mixed numbers through the use of long division. We did six problems like that together, and then a word problem (which he did a great job of writing out the steps for). He struggled in the beginning with long division, but was doing an excellent job by the end of the lesson. He was very proud of his work and excited to complete the rest on his own."
"The student had some practice problems from the AP exam, so we reviewed those. I walked him through some which dealt with the new material he had learned in class (definite integrals, Riemann sums), and he was able to work through the rest of the problems with guidance as needed."
"The student and I worked on one and two step equations, probability, and working backward problems. I would like him to show more work."
"We went over order of operations (PEMDAS specifically). The student mainly struggled with exponents but later he got the hang of them. He had a great attitude and listened to everything I had to say and tried to utilize my advice. Overall the session was great and I believe he improved a lot."
"We reviewed several basic math concepts, such as adding and subtracting negative integers, multiplying and dividing rational numbers, and absolute values. The student has a very positive attitude and is ready to do any work that is asked of him. I asked him to review some materials I had provided and to have questions and practice problems worked for us to review the next time we meet."
