Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session I helped the student with her homework and continued to review the subjunctive with her. Her homework required that she fill in the blank with the conjugated verb in the subjunctive. She had a little trouble with the irregular verbs since she has not yet reviewed those in her class. I therefore spent a little time explaining the irregular verbs to her and also the structure of a sentence when using the subjunctive. I had her complete a few extra worksheets and write a few sentences using the subjunctive. She did very well in these two exercises. I reminded her to think of the present tense indicative "yo" form first, and then determine the subjunctive form of the verb. For homework I emailed her a word document with more subjunctive practice, and asked her to write in the answers for the next session."
"We were able to practice multiple tenses again, and we successfully finished more of the student's homework. As usual, we started off with some discussion about what we had done over the weekend to practice the preterite tenses, and after that we warmed up with some spontaneous sentence creation using irregular verbs in the conditional tense. After that, we devoted our time to filling out the combination of past classwork and homework sheets assigned to her from her school class. The student continues to impress me with her ability to hold an extended conversation in Spanish."
"Our lesson focused on creating a role play using the present tense based on a short book we read the previous session. After that, we went over some questions based on the same book. The students had no problems completing the assignments."
