Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did a great job today. We went back to working on his multiplication facts. We worked on reciting his higher numbered facts at a more rapid pace. He was able to improve his time tremendously! We then worked on place values with a deck of cards. Although we are playing certain card games, there is a purpose to the value and order in which the cards are placed! He did a great job! His homework is to continue working on his higher multiplication facts, his 7s and 8s. Also, we worked on his double numbered facts. These can help him understand and recite his higher leveled factors more quickly. Great session!"
"The student did a great job writing out the definitions of this week's vocabulary and spelling words. We practiced her flashcards for her test. She received another 100% on last week's test. I went over a math assignment she needed to fix for her teacher, and we worked on additional math bar graph questions and introduced the concept of multiplication. She has two math worksheets for homework from me."
"The student did great today, as usual! We finished all her homework and then some. She started out with her math homework, which involved writing and solving simple algebraic functions using word problems. This was very easy for her! We finished it up quickly, so we moved on to some of her vocabulary homework. After we completed the vocab page, we did some extra algebra practice using a coloring sheet. She was a bit more challenged by the tougher problems but she pulled it off seamlessly!"
"The student did great today. We prepared for an upcoming math test on place value, expanded form, money, and decimal sense. I also introduced expanded form with decimals up to the hundredths place. She picked up on it pretty well, but will need reinforcement. We also hand counted real coins, identifying the name and the value of each coin and counting a total of a bunch of coins in cents form and dollar/cent form. She did an awesome job today."
"The student did her decimals homework. She worked on moving the decimal place over twice when multiplying two decimals. I brought a few helpful worksheets for her so she can do better with word problems. We will focus on those next session. She also worked on her spelling test. She was good on most words."
"The student did her math homework rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. She struggled a bit, so we reviewed this concept. She also read for 1/2 hour. Her comprehension is very good. We worked on slowing down, reading all the words and breaking down words phonetically."
