Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"She prepared for her upcoming test on quadratic equations, solving quadratics, graphing quadratics. We reviewed complex numbers and worked on word problems that use quadratics to solve. She also continued to practice converting between standard, vertex, and intercept form of a quadratic equation."
"She started a new chapter on applications of differentiation. For this session, we focused on the Mean Value Theorem. She is able to do these problems well."
"She was finished with her math homework by the time I arrived today. We checked over her math to make sure it was correct."
"She was supposed to have a test tomorrow, but isn't since it is the day before fall break and many of her classmates will not be in school. First, she practiced estimating angles with multiple choice. This is a good strategy for checking her answer on the additive missing angle problems. We practiced working on finding the missing angle using addition and subtraction. She has to be careful that she is looking at the correct angle that is missing, so I had her tracing the angle to ensure that she is looking at the right part. Once we practiced a few, she did much better with these."
"She's a very intelligent young woman that just goes too fast sometimes and has a few gaps in her knowledge. We went over factoring polynomials and some other basic rules of algebra. She has a fun, positive attitude. We got to know each other, and she trusts me as a tutor."
"Since our last session, the student's vector calculus class has begun. As a result of this, he and I have backtracked to covering the early material in this course. He shows more familiarity with these earlier topics than he did the first time around, but additional practice will be necessary."
