The student is making such great growth it amazes me! Today, we reviewed rounding and estimation and went right into adding fractions with unlike denominators. She has taken great notes in her journal and refers to them frequently, which is a great study skill. Today, we focused on converting from mixed fractions to improper fractions and back and forth. She was doing well with understanding the steps. I challenged her with being able to add mixed fractions with unlike denominators, and she was not shy of the challenge. We will work on word problems involving fractions next time and move into algebraic expressions.

The student is reading "Mr. Lemoncello's Library." We read a chapter together, and he had a little difficulty reading this book since it is at a reading level of 4.5. He also worked on two reading passages, some vocabulary drills, and grammar worksheets. He did great! I assigned him some homework to finish before the next session.
