Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We have completed a practice exam for the upcoming test. We started with solving problems using the perimeter of rectangle formula to determine the width in terms of polynomials. Next, we solve several linear equations and inequalities. After that we solved the applied problems. We set up an equation or inequality from the given problem, solved it, and interpreted the answer."
"We learned to decompose a number, to pull factors as radical, the radicals to make calculations, and to rationalize. She learned to square of a quadratic form, using this method to solve the equations."
"We looked at a test where she had not done very well and reviewed some of the concepts that tripped her up. This included coplanar and collinear lines, and finding the midpoint and distance between two points. She has improved a lot in using these concepts, but there's still some room for her to grow."
"We looked at degrees of polynomials, identifying the number types (i.e. integers, rational & irrational number, real numbers), and also reviewed expansion of polynomials. He was very engaged throughout the tutoring session and understood all the concepts taught."
"We looked at each part of the equation of the line and did practice problems to find the slope, y-intercept and the equation of the line. Then we graphed equations in problems where we started with the slope and one point. Next, we reviewed the rules of fractions and powers. At the end of the session, we did a couple of inequality practice problems."
"We made a lot of progress tonight with word problems on a variety of topics. I'm looking forward to hearing what you learn as you do your homework between now and Sunday. You can do this! We will look in depth at area and perimeter on Sunday night."
