"We practiced speaking sentences using the new vocabulary and phrases in the target language. Their homework is to complete the chapter 3 worksheet."
"We started with a little bit of conversation in Spanish, then we went over some of the differences between using the conditional, future, future perfect, and conditional perfect to express probability and conjecture in the present and past. I gave the student a summary sheet that highlights the differences. I had her do several practice problems where these concepts were used. Next we started talking about the present subjunctive. I introduced how to conjugate in the present subjunctive for ar and er/ir verbs. Additionally, we covered some of the irregularities in the subjunctive, like conjugations for the verbs ir, ser, estar, and saber. We also talked about the irregular spelling changes that occur with -car/ gar/ zar verbs. We ended with several sets of practice problems covering the subjunctive."
"Today, we reviewed verb conjugations and began to talk about stem-changing verbs. Specifically, we worked on verbs where the o or u becomes "ue." We also reviewed household item vocabulary and learned a few new words."
"Student 1: Reviewed new vocabulary. Brought exercises to practice conjugating verbs in the present tense and past tense. Gave practical examples on how to describe a routine. Student 2: Kept working on food and restaurant vocabulary. Brought a real menu to help him understand the practicality of the vocabulary. Introduced visual aids that seemed to help him grasp the new vocabulary better."
"We worked on irregular preterit verbs and vocabulary using a picture dictionary. I recommended that the student study verbs by writing out each of the forms and identifying them with a picture to bypass English."
"We reviewed the student's homework. We read a chapter of her Spanish reading book and tried to summarize it to make sure she understood. Then, we worked on conversation. She is very good at speaking in Spanish. She is very fluent and tries to communicate even when she doesn't have the vocabulary ."
