The student and I worked on her key terms for the period of 1650-1800. We discussed how using film to enhance her understanding of the time periods would be helpful and we did a search for some films. I also prepared tips for essay writing, including examples. She again told me that she raised her grade from a C to a B on the last exam, and she was very pleased. She also received information that her instructor uses for the exam questions, so she plans on purchasing that program.

The student submitted her integration paper for comments and review. Her paper was well-researched and along with specific comments on the document, I made the following recommendations to her concerning areas of attention: 1. Good transitions between ideas, 2. Expanding her own analysis of important ideas, 3. Consistent source citation formatting, especially in-text citations. I did not mark all of these. The student has made fantastic progress in her writing since I first began working with her about a year ago. She should be very proud.

We studied the student's unit four. Her biggest challenge is vocabulary. We spent a lot of time building a study guide for her for her final. She knows she needs to review it. We also reviewed the different past tenses. I think she's fine there. She knows how to construct it. Sometimes, she still has trouble knowing when to use one or the other, but it's not very often. I gave her lots of practice to work on before Sunday, and encouraged her to email if she has questions.
