How can your Algebra tutor help you?

Being able to understand and apply the concepts covered in algebra is an important skill to possess. College-bound students will be required to understand algebra before they enter a degree program, and if they plan on studying statistics or a STEM-related field, they must be able to successfully apply those principles. Algebra can be hard for students who aren't naturally talented in math. Algebra is one of our first introductions into abstract mathematical thinking, and all you could learn will be used in future math classes. Due to this, falling behind in algebra may have negative repercussions. If you are the parent of a student who is struggling with algebra, Varsity Tutors can help. For assistance in connecting with a skilled algebra tutor in Kendall, FL, contact one of our educational directors.

Our educational directors are happy to try to help you locate an individual algebra tutor in Kendall who can guide your son or daughter down the path of success. Their private tutor will be in a position to accommodate your family's busy schedule, and is happy to meet at a time and place that is convenient for you. This means that lessons can be scheduled day or night, and even over the weekend. You might be able to choose a safe and comfortable location for your child to meet their tutor that is free of distractions. While many students meet tutors within their home, it is possible to have your child's sessions held in the library, on campus, or even on the computer through face-to-face online tutoring sessions via our live learning platform. Regardless of how your child prefers to review, there is a tutor who can make the learning experience enjoyable.

Kendall, FL Algebra tutoring
Reviewed the concepts the student learned in class, including combining like terms and solving two-step equations for a variable. Since he did everything with relative ease, including word problems, I gave him some enrichment and showed him quadratic equations. He was very enthusiastic and thought "it was so cool" that an equation could have more than one solution. Also showed him how to factor polynomials and solve for their roots.

Kendall, FL Algebra tutoring
She had some questions on the two types of problems on her homework (5-11 and 5-12 in her book) so we went over the concepts and then did some practice. By the end she didn't need my help at all. We also did two word problems, which she was able to do with very little guidance from me. The student also told me that she took a quiz this week and got an A on it! She said that while taking the quiz, she took up the entire time allotted which was really helpful for her.

First she had to get ready for an in-class English assignment, and then we started studying for her test in World Cultures. The test isn't for a few weeks, but it's one of her toughest subjects, so she thought it would be a good idea to learn the map for South Asia. Next we studied for her math quiz tomorrow on factoring binomials. She's really good at it. I wrote up some "same or different" binomial problems with a bunch of negatives to help show her when you need a negative and when you can just switch the order of addition to match the first pair. She did really well, and I think she's ready now to get an A on this quiz as long as she stays focused.

The student received package on solving a system of two linear equations by the graphical method and by substitution, so we exercised with these problems. He did good in general, as we have learned how graphical method can be used. I also found that he generally performs better and is more focused when I give him a time constraint to challenge him. I shall experiment with more so help him focus.

The first student and I went over his fraction hw, and he is doing very well. The second student and I went over the rational root theorem examples and practiced using conjugates. I gave him a preview of doing complex number division using conjugates.
