How can a tutor help you with summer tutoring?

Every child loves summer. There are sunny days to spend playing outside, vacations to new places, and no need to wake up on time for school. As a parent, however, you may start to worry about what's happening to all that learning progress your child made during the school year. Researchers now estimate that students face serious learning losses over the summer that may, in many cases, lead to increases in achievement gaps. Add these gaps up over enough summers, and you could be counting the deficiency in years rather than months. If you're at all concerned that your child is losing ground over the summer, Varsity Tutors' educational directors may assist you in connecting with a tutor in Kansas City who may try to help your child work to stay current throughout the summer.

The simple truth is that, as much as you might like to help personally, it may be difficult to find enough time. A week or two off work during the summer just isn't going to give you a lot of time to check your student's English or math skills. Fortunately, an expert summer tutor that we connect you with in Kansas City, MO, may help you feel confident that your child is getting the help he or she needs. You'll have total control over lesson content, whether you want your son or daughter to be keeping up on reading skills or practicing elementary mathematics. Your student may also be free to ask as many questions as he or she likes, with the tutor slowing things down or speeding them up as necessary.

In this session the student learned how to find all the notes with sharps and flats. He did very well when I asked him all the notes. We read new melodies in the piano and started a new song. Continued with reading eighth notes which is still a little challenging for the student, but he is getting better at it. We looked at different options to start his new video project because he wants to edit videos and add his own music to it.

The student and I worked on reading comprehension, math word problems and nouns. She is getting better at comprehending the story and correctly answering the questions. She still has a tendency to choose the answer that is logical instead of correct according you the story but will realize this if I ask her to look over the story again to check her answer. We performed more complex math word problem and she has a little trouble understanding what the question was asking since is wasn't a direct question. Once she took the time to read the question and understand what the question was asking, she did a lot better.
