Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on commands--practicing formal, informal, nosotros, and indirect. The student seemed to have a decent grasp on the concepts by the end of the session. She just needs more practice to memorize the various rules for each type of command and the irregular "tu" commands."
"Yesterday afternoon, the student and I reviewed for a test he will be having in Spanish 3 today. First, we went over vocabulary and discussed some further study strategies, such as word webs and word associations. We also practiced question/responses using vocabulary. He and I also reviewed the "present perfect" and made flashcards for regular and irregular verbs. We reviewed the flashcards, and he did very well with them! He was able to answer questions orally using the present perfect tense. We also discussed reflexive, direct, and indirect object pronouns, and how to use them in context. Finally, he finished his study guide and we discussed a few more questions. He also knows to continue reviewing his flashcards as well as an online website for further review."
"During our session, we worked on reading and listening comprehension of the Spanish assignments. There were multiple choice questions that the student did good on answering based on the spoken passages. Again, we worked on her pronunciation as she read a few paragraphs a loud. It helps to write the words out phonetically such as writing the word "honrar" as "on-rawr"."
