"* I helped the student study for an upcoming vocab phrases test. * I questioned him in both English and Spanish, mixing the order of the phrases. * He did well! * I pointed out some things to watch for i.e.: false cognates, feminine gender of "cion" words, etc."
"Today we covered in more depth the difference between the preterito indefinido and preterito imperfecto. We focused a lot on speaking practice, but also spent some time on worksheets to practice the specifics of the grammar. We used a couple of different games to practice speaking, a board game with various past tense topics, and also a domino game to mix various verbs and time references. Once again I was very happy with the student's ability to speak more fluidly throughout our session. Her ability to recognize her own mistakes and correct them is something in particular that I found to be positive. I left her with a set of cards with some of the most common verbs to practice, but understandably the main focus is preparation for the final exam on Wednesday."
"Today in our first session, we focused on the student completing as many of the Spanish assignments as she could. The first was a listening comprehension activity which required her to record a 30 second response. I helped her comprehension of the passage and we then discussed what the main points were. After, we composed a Spanish response and practiced her pronunciation. There were words she needed help pronouncing such as roca, Maya, construyeron, and Chichen Itza. She was able to get through four of her assignments during this session."
