Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on studying for her earth science midterm. We made flashcards for the ocean currents."
"The student and I went over the final practice exam. We only got through about one-fourth of the practice exam in an hour and 15 minutes. This was our last meeting. His final is tomorrow."
"The topic covered today was balancing multiple chemical equations in order to achieve a specific result and the heat of reaction."
"We did a quick overview of previous material - displacement, velocity, acceleration, distance traveled, speed, graphs. Then we had a discussion about specific practice problems from his question packet - relative velocity, tension in three sided rope problem. We did a concept overview of relative velocity - how to set up a diagram, how to set up the vector equation, how to use algebra to solve for the magnitude of the vector, and an overview of Newton's Laws. We studied how to figure out relative velocity problem with vector set up; how to look at force problems relating Newton's laws . I think he is a very bright student. He picks ups concepts quickly and doesn't hesitate to ask questions."
"We spent the beginning of the session reviewing the student's updated grades with his father to make sure we are on track. Afterwards, he began to work on his US History essay, and I helped him to brainstorm an outline before writing it. This took up the majority of the time. At the end, we went over his Physical Science review sheet again with measurements and units to prepare for his exam in that class this Thursday. He was up to date and ahead in Algebra. He is a brilliant and wonderful student to work with!"
"We went over the test questions that the student had done incorrectly so he could correct the answers. We worked on several empirical formula and molecular formula problems. We then practiced balancing equations and started stoichiometry."
