Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we reviewed proofs and coordinate calculations for the student's test this week. She needed the most help with setting up problems. She has a tendency to overthink problems, but once she recognizes this, she has no problem completing the problem. I recommend she spend some time going over old theorems and postulates to refresh her memory on the tools she has available."
"Today, we went over the student's most recent exam and corrected all the problems that were marked as incorrect. We also worked on a review of her homework on translations and reflections. She did very well today. She was able to understand the mistakes she made on the test, and she has a very good grasp on the concepts of translation and reflection."
"Today, we went over triangle congruence postulates (SAS, SSS, AAS, ASA) and HL congruence theorem. The student's proof-tackling abilities have improved. My advice for him is to think about which congruence statement he will use in the last step and then work forwards from the given statements. After geometry, he and I worked on grammar (conjunctions) and reading comprehension from Homer's Odyssey. It has been a great experience tutoring him, and I wish him good luck in all of his academic endeavors!"
"Today, we worked on algebra 2 topics for a test. These topics included factoring polynomials, analyzing graphs, use of Descartes's rule of signs, finding zeroes, and word problems."
"Today, we worked on Chapter 5 on triangle congruence, focusing on the isosceles triangle theorem. The student worked on many problems, and he was able to solve them on his own. He is understanding the concept, and I left practice problems for him to work on. He is working ahead of his online schedule."
"Today, we worked on polygons and using slope, distance, and midpoint formulas to determine the type of polygon. We went over parallel and perpendicular slopes and how that is used to show that a polygon is a parallelogram. We used the distance formula to show the type of triangle."
