"The student and I worked on her homework, a reading passage (poem) with comprehension questions (she did a good job on this) and a math assignment (she was successful with this). We again talked about labeling everything she can to make it easier for her to answer the question. We also discussed her spelling words for the week."
"Worked with the student on using the number line for adding and subtracting. He understood this concept well and was able to work with the number line. I also introduced the concept of multiplication, as adding multiple groups. This including the concepts of multiplying by zero, one and two. He did a great job and was able to solve the multiplication problems."
"We covered the student's homework for this week. The student's attitude was positive. I left the student with extra practice."
"Student A started with word problems with adding and subtracting fractions. She's showing great improvement with this concept. We then did more practice with multiplying fractions, and she did very well. We moved on to word problems with multiplying fractions, which were a little challenging. We then went over dividing fractions, which was a new concept, but she picked it up quickly. We ended with word problems with dividing fractions, which she really enjoyed. Student B started with multiplying fractions. She needed a little guidance, but overall she did well. We then did word problems with multiplying fractions, and she did very well on them. Next, we went over the new concept of dividing fractions, which she picked up quickly. We ended with word problems with dividing fractions, which were more challenging. Both girls did great today and I left them with extra practice worksheets."
"Today's session went well. I brought new multiplication flash cards to use for drill exercises with the student, as well as a multiplication chart for her to fill out and use when permissible. I also showed her strategies for long division and left a practice sheet for her to work on. The student kept a positive attitude throughout the session."
"The student and I went over his mean, median, and mode homework using lists of stats from some of his football playing cards. We switched gears to literacy, playing a game in which we took turns thumbing through the dictionary and giving each other two words to spell, define and use in a sentence. We will expand this practice with his homework that is due next week. We finished our session by doing some math "missions" via an online math site."
