Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We prepared the introduction to the group video presentation. We also studied the preterit for irregular verbs and the vocabulary for the upcoming test."
"* The student worked on his homework, practicing pronunciation by reading out loud, and filling in spaces from a word bank. * He was matching conjugated verbs with the conjugation of the sentences. * We did extra reading practice on the reader "El Cid," answering questions. * He found future tense verbs and conjugated them to the "conditional" tense. * He feels he did OK on the test he took today. They don't get their tests back so there is no way of knowing where his weak areas are to be able to improve."
"We had a new tutoring session on Saturday. We started reviewing what the student has been working on this week to adapt a good class for her. The material covered was the perfect present and other previously studied verbs: present, present continuous, past simple and pluscuamperfecto. The purpose of today's class has been practicing all these tenses talking actively the whole class. The student explained how her week had been at school, using different tenses; we have practiced with exercises where she had to choose the correct tense, after that, she built sentences in positive and negative ways; we worked also doing questions and answers with examples from everyday life. At the end we review the short film we watched last week; next she had a good opportunity to continue talking, explaining the argument, using all possible verb tenses she knows so far. Today I really noticed a good improvement from the beginning, she was not doubting about which verb tense to use, using correctly tenses she struggled with during last sessions, and as always, challenging herself to use good answers. Today's session was a nice class, where she was collaborating really well, as usual."
