The student had a chapter test yesterday on material we covered last week. On the quiz he earned a score of 13/12!! We started to cover the new material - covalent bonding and Lewis dot structures, sigma & pi bonding. This is a long chapter so we are sure to meet again before the chapter test to go over any confusing information. I hope to hear good news about the test next time!

The student  and I worked through a practice math section together. It seems  his learning style is better suited to tackling a range of problems in random order rather than systematically working through topics. I modeled one proof about parallelograms. Then we modeled some more basic proofs. We reviewed the interior and exterior angles of polygons. The student is struggling with solving equations for unknowns, so I tried to emphasize as many problems that required setting up and solving equations.
