Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We played a new game where we describe a card and the other player guess. We did this in Spanish. We sang our songs and introduced a new song with the days of the week. The girls' favorite game is drawing by following directions in Spanish."
"With Student 1, we worked on articles of clothing and colors. With Student 2, we worked on the future tense to supplement her material in school. I plan to leave Student 1 with extra practice."
"We practiced the preterit tense by telling one another things we've done in the last 2 weeks. I introduced the lesson of preterit vs imperfect tenses and will email a few practice quizzes so they can be prepared for next session."
"We reviewed the subjunctive. We defined its uses and looked at its conjugation. After this, the student completed a couple of exercises from his book regarding the subjunctive."
"We continued with the video on "Me gusta, le gusta, no gusta." We saw all the narrative parts, and now we are listening to the grammatical explanation. The idea of "liking" in Spanish is very different."
"The student and I continued to read the Le Monde article from the last session. This time, we analyzed the use of verbs, articles, and prepositions. This was a great recap of everything we had done thus far. In the next session, I will introduce the imparfait, and we will read dialogue from French plays and movies."
