Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"She and I reviewed for a test that she has tomorrow over distributive properties and axioms. She is a great student who was very enthusiastic about her education, which is a wonderful blessing. She got a test back and when she scored a 92, which I'm very excited about. I believe that she will do an excellent job on her test tomorrow."
"She and I reviewed her math homework, which covered a variety of standards, and she made some corrections due to not showing her work on some problems. From there, I was able to determine she needed additional support in multiplying fractions and area problems."
"She and I reviewed Pre-Algebra concepts that she is working on in class like doing algebraic equations with variables on both sides. We also reviewed some past quizzes. She and I also worked on her science homework. We corrected her lab quiz and then worked on her review sheet for her test on Thursday. She understood both the science and math really well and was able to correct all her own mistakes on her quizzes. She needs to continue to work on her review sheet and start to study and memorize for her science test this week."
"She and I reviewed two step equations. She understood the process for solving basic two step equations but struggled with integers. Her attitude was open and positive. She puts forth effort on her assignments and likes to be challenged. I have asked her about school assessment grades, but she said her teacher hasn't given her back any in awhile. I gave her some extra practice and look forward to working with her next week."
"She and I spent some time getting to know each other through the use of math games. It was also an informal assessment to see where she is at in her math studies. We worked on number sense as it relates to the number line (what number come before and after x). We also played several games where we built and solved addition and subtraction equations. She is strong when it comes to adding 10 +x and 20+x but needs more work on doubles and 9+x. We added the strategy of counting up for addition. We will continue to focus on the number line, addition, and subtraction for our next session."
"She and I went over difficulties that she had on her homework that included areas, perimeters, reduction of fractions, and percentages. We also went over her physics test review that included displacement, velocity, speed, and acceleration."
